How Amp handles what you share
This page explains what happens to what you type and send to Amp on this site. HumanAmp’s main privacy notice also applies. Some features below are switched off on this site; where a feature is off, nothing described for it happens.
Who
Amp on this page runs on HumanAmp’s Amp service at https://humanamp-amp-experience-preview.netlify.app, a separate site also hosted by Netlify. Card links are off here. When you send a problem to Lee and Dave, your email address is used as a contact address only: it goes with your note to HumanAmp’s own inboxes so they can reply to you, and nothing is emailed to that address.
HumanAmp runs this site. To ask about anything here, or to ask us to delete something we hold, email amp@humanamp.bot.
Kept in your browser
- Your cards are saved in this browser (its IndexedDB storage) when you save them, with no end date. They stay until you delete them (Menu, Delete) or clear this site’s data, or the browser clears it when space is low. Saving doesn’t send a card anywhere.
- The conversation’s working state: contact details Amp picked up, Amp’s own notes and a short-lived check token, kept per card in this tab’s session storage. It goes when you close the tab.
- Reading preferences (colour and easier reading), kept in this browser’s local storage.
- If card links are switched on and you send a card: an anonymous sign-in for this browser (a Google Firebase refresh token, no name or email), kept in local storage so this browser can update the link it made. It stays until you clear this site’s data.
What leaves your browser, and where it goes
- Typing to Amp. Each message, with up to 16 recent messages from the card, any contact details Amp picked up and Amp’s notes, goes to HumanAmp’s Amp service at https://humanamp-amp-experience-preview.netlify.app, hosted by Netlify. When AI is switched on, the service sends the conversation to OpenAI to write Amp’s reply, and asks OpenAI not to store it. When AI is off, replies come from HumanAmp’s site notes. Each reply says whether AI wrote it.
- Asking Amp to draft the card. The card’s messages go the same way, to OpenAI, for suggestions you can accept or skip.
- Talking to Amp isn’t available on this site. You type to Amp, and this page doesn’t ask for your microphone.
- Sending a copy to Lee and Dave, only if you tick it and press Send. Your name, email address, and company and phone number if you give them, the reviewed card, up to 40 recent messages and Amp’s notes go to HumanAmp’s service. Where email is switched on, it is emailed through Resend to HumanAmp’s own inboxes only, with your email address so Lee and Dave can reply to you. Nothing is emailed to the address you give. Resend accepting an email doesn’t confirm it was delivered.
- Your card’s link, only if card links are switched on and you press Send. When you send, the page loads Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, which Firebase App Check uses to attest that the request comes from a genuine browser using this site, to help prevent abuse, and signs this browser in anonymously with Google Firebase. The card’s summary and notes are stored by HumanAmp’s share service on Google Firebase. The conversation and the contact details you enter in the Send form (name, email, company, phone) are not part of the link. The summary and notes are shared exactly as they are, including any name, email address, phone number or other personal detail written in them. Nothing is removed automatically, so check them before you press Send and take out anything you don’t want others to see. Anyone who has the link can open the card for 24 hours from when it was first sent; then it stops opening and is deleted, normally within about an hour.
- The film on the first screen is HumanAmp’s homepage film, hosted on humanamp.ai; its poster image and captions come from this site. It never plays by itself, and the page asks your browser not to load the film until you press play. That is a request some browsers may not follow, so your browser may contact humanamp.ai when this page opens, and humanamp.ai then receives an ordinary web request, including your IP address.
Netlify, which hosts this site and the Amp service, handles every request, including your IP address, to deliver it and to limit how often it can be called.
How long things are kept
- In your browser: as above, until you delete them or clear this site’s data.
- A card’s link: 24 hours from when it was first sent.
- Emails to HumanAmp: in HumanAmp’s mailboxes. No fixed deletion date is set here; ask us at the address above to delete yours.
- OpenAI, Google, Resend and Netlify process data under their own terms, including their own logs. We can’t delete their copies from here.
Your choices
- Nothing is sent to Lee and Dave, and no link is made, unless you check what goes and press Send.
- You can leave out your company and phone number, and untick the copy to Lee and Dave.
- You can edit the summary and notes before you send, to take out anything you don’t want shared.
- You can delete cards from this browser at any time.
